Review Time!

I cannot be with you today...sorry! My husband is having surgery today on his knee...a much needed surgery!

Please keep this in mind as you review:
  1. Study that list of terms I gave you last Friday. If you know those terms, you will make a great score on this test, which, remember, counts as 20% of your entire grade!
  2. If needed, use your Reader's Notebook for more term info.
  3. Haven't turned in your Reader's Notebook and want to keep it to study? Then turn your Reader's Notebook in tomorrow during semester test time.

Still need to complete an assessment...or two? We will have plenty of time after the test on Tuesday to complete any and all assessments.

Questions? Comments? Concerns?

Good luck! Now study! Go ahead....STUDY!

Earth Day ~ April 22

Our Earth Club is very active this week…giving away shirts to those who recycle old cell phones and batteries, pencils to those who clean out their lockers and backpacks.

So what can I do to celebrate as I wear my “Go Green” t-shirt tomorrow? I can incorporate this day with National Poetry Month! Here are some sites that I may share with my students:

Choices, choices!

Diligence Pays

What can I say? When in a reading class, one must read!

I can say that I am jealous of my students in this class...imagine going to an 1 1/2 hour long class every other day where one is allowed to choose a book and then just set there and read! Sounds like a vacation to me!

And these kiddos are literally surrounded by books, books there for their choosing.

So let's read! And read!

9/11 Remembered

Today I read "9/11 Remembered: An Eyewitness Account" to my eighth grade lit lab class and was proudly surprised with how my students responded when I said, "You may not remember what you were doing..." Didn't get to finish, for they quickly told me that they do remember exactly what they were doing on that day, seven years ago.

May we never forget.

For as vivid as our memories are, the memories of those there and of those who lost loved ones have to be that much more vivid.

May we never forget.
